In this activity, students use a simulated spring to explore Hooke's Law. They first observe how displacement and restoring force change as the spring is stretched. |

Next, they use the Geometry Trace tool to trace the path of point S, whose coordinates represent the displacement and restoring force for each position of the spring. |

Finally, students plot the best-fit equation for the data points and use the equation to determine the spring constant for the spring. |
